I originally had a problem with the app.as well as the garage charging me twice..but the issue was resolved. It was my first time using spothero..I did know nor did the fine print read..Do not enter the garage BEFORE your schedule time..not even 4 minutes,because you will be charged..I made reservations for 8:30 got there at 8:24 and was charged $7 for 6 minutes..
We booked a parking reservation for a garage in NYC. We were delayed due to heavy rain and traffic. Arrived late and entered the wrong garage (the number on the building was not clearly visible). The attendant was unhelpful and rude, but we decided to park at this place instead since we were already running late for a meeting, and we had to pay double. We then tried to apply for refund for the reservation made at the first garage. We were not sure if it could be possible since the deadline for the refund had passed. To our surprise, the refund went through. Not only that, we received a beautiful note from customer service. We feel SpotHero deserves a five star rating from us.
I've used Spothero for a number of years, but not very often; maybe a half dozen times per year for parking in Manhattan. Today I was reserving for a date in September and after filling in the time and date for one garage, decided to change to another garage more convenient to one of my two destinations. I didn't verify the time and date after changing the garage and Spothero's system had reset it to the current time/day, which I didn't notice until after the transaction was complete. I called Spothero support (844) 324-SPOT (7768) and the courteous rep refunded the charge, then was kind enough to make the correct reservation for me. Easy and rapid.
UPDATE:
Aug 31/20: A few days after my post, I was finally reached out to and my problem was resolved. So I'm upgrading my review to a 4 star because they came through. I'll use SpotHero again.
Aug 14/20: I followed the app to the parking garage and accidentally pulled in one driveway too soon. Turns out I was in the wrong garage and had to pay double when I left, vs what I paid Spot Hero. I called customer service (she was fabulous) who informed me to email the receipt paid and they'd immediately refund. It's 3 weeks later and I have repeatedly emailed and no refund. What a disappointment.
I've been using Spothero for many years now. For every issues i've had (even during these times), they've been quick to respond and helped address the issue at hand. It's made it efficient and painless to get a spot in Chicago. I hope they continue their great service as that will be a big factor.
